Sorry for the delay in posting.  Been crazy busy and stressed out to the max.

I finally found a plastic surgeon near me* that is advertising the whole Mommy Makeover!  I haven’t made a consultation yet, as I’m kind of waiting out this damn economic recession by hoarding my money.  Although maybe now the physicians are desperate for business and the procedures may be less expensive? The minute I win the Powerball lottery, I’ll call and book my appointment.

I think I’d feel better about self-image if I just lost 15 pounds.  I was dating a guy that recommended the P90X Extreme Home Fitness Program with Tony Horton that he does. Although he told me I was gorgeous, I think he wanted me to look like his ex-wife, a petite blonde that works out everyday. Sorry Charlie, you need to move on.

I can’t make it through a whole hour and a half of Tony’s torture without feeling like I’m on my death bed, so I ordered Tony Horton’s 10 minute Trainer Workout Set and have faithfully done it everyday for the last two weeks. I did the whole measuring thing beforehand so I’ll report if I lose any inches.

I also ordered the book Become Your Own Matchmaker: 8 Easy Steps for Attracting Your Perfect Mate after seeing Patti Stanger on The Tyra Banks Show (yes, I admit I watch Tyra everyday).  I think I will write separate posts about the steps so you can follow along to see if I’ll really have a big, glittering diamond ring on my left hand in less than a year. Honestly if I found my “perfect mate” before getting plastic surgery, who accepts me for who I am, then I probably wouldn’t proceed with such.  But I admit I have low self-esteem and need to overcome it.  Stay tuned.

* P.S. I googled to find a link to Surgical Images and saw they are offering an 18 month no interest financing option!  But it ends tomorrow.  I’m gonna presume that they’ll offer a new payment option when this one expires?

Lasik Eye SurgeryI started wearing glasses in the 2nd grade.  I was very near-sighted and with a bad astigmatism, contacts weren’t a good option.  Soft contacts were comfortable, but I couldn’t see well enough.  I could see out of gas-permeable weighted lenses, but they hurt too bad to wear for extended periods of time.

So, I had Lasik eye surgery eight years ago (when it was way more expensive)!  They had told me that my vision was so bad that I’d probably still need to wear reading glasses, but I was okay with that.  Lo and behold I woke up to better than 20/20 vision the next day!  There is nothing better than not having to squint in the middle of the night to read the alarm clock!

Over the last couple of years, my eye sight is slowly diminishing, so I was wearing glasses periodically for night driving, watching television/movies and while under flourescents in auditoriums to see better.

When my eye doctor told me in June that they had pretty much perfected getting an enhancement done, I said sign me up!  Both my regular eye doctor and the surgeon suggested that I just do the right dominate eye and have mono-vision.  Supposedly 90% off recipients like this idea/theory.  But when I woke up to better than 20/20 in my right eye the next day, and compared to my blurry left eye, I wanted that eye done, too.

They made me give it time to adjust, yadda yadda.  Finally they agreed that I was in that 10% category, and that brings us up to last week.  I wish they would have just done the other eye enhancement back in June to save on time, money, gas, prescription eye drops, and the worst part – having to go a whole week without wearing makeup!

You’d think I would have been an old pro at this by now, but for some reason (maybe the Valium didn’t kick in), I was extremely anxious and swear I could feel every cut of the flap opening, the laser burning, and I was in pain afterwards.  If this would have happened the very first time, I definitely would not have had it done again.

The next day, I am not seeing 20/20 out of that eye and getting nervous.  The eye doctor says my cornea is swollen. Continue drops.   The swelling is still there after a week, but the doctor says it is getting better and has lessoned my amount of eye drop intake of Zymar and Pred Forte.  And they say I’m 20/20!

I have noticed driving that my far-sighted vision is perfect!  Growing up extremely near-sighted makes one appreciate seeing the leaves on the trees in the distance.  The doctor is again afraid I will eventually need reading glasses, but don’t most people after they hit middle-age?  Trust me, I’d rather wear reading glasses periodically than be near-sighted again.

Sorry I haven’t updated in awhile – time has gotten away from me.  I promise to be better as I found a plastic surgeon near me that does Mommy Makeovers!  But more about that later…

Smile! On my quest of transformation into being more beautiful, I went to the dentist.  I had all of my old silver fillings that I’d have since I was young removed and replaced with white resin. The dentist actually said I should have them replaced as they were old and starting to seep.  I could have chosen to replace with silver again, but I opted to pay the extra for tooth color.  I now have a whiter smile!  Just wait til you see me open up real wide <evil grin>.

Wish I had dental insurance as it was all out of pocket to the tune of almost $1000 buck-a-roos.  But I’ve spent way more on dental procedures for my kids. And eating out. Looked at my Quicken account and realized we spend over $800 a month eating out!  I really need to learn to cook.  It would be healthier for us all as well.  But saying is easier than doing.

So now I’m wondering, can I used my Healthcare Savings Account (HSA) to pay for my mommy makeover? I don’t have near that much in my account, but maybe I will by the time I get around to actually going through with it.  I’d love to have it done before Christmas (for a few reasons that will remain anonymous), but it’s only 126 days until Christmas!  Chop Chop.
